In the Community

At Tatum Hillman Hickerson & Powell, LLP, our lawyers pride themselves not only on their legal achievements, but on their extensive community involvement. Our lawyers have served on the boards of or had leadership roles in various local non-profit organizations, organized and sponsored a myriad of fundraising events for non-profit groups, participated in fund-raising efforts such as marathons, biking trips, cookie sales, etc., and provided financial support, volunteer hours and free legal advice to numerous different individual charities. Our lawyers also appear regularly at Continuing Legal Education Events or as invited speakers and experts in their field.

For example, individual lawyers at THP have:

  • Served as chair of the PTA of Morris Brandon Elementary School;
  • Been heavily involved with the Georgia High School Mock Trial Program, serving as an attorney coach for North Forsyth High School and for Grady High School;
  • Graduated from Leadership Forsyth and Leadership DeKalb;
  • Served as Board members at St. Anne’s Day School and Morris Brandon Elementary School;
  • Served on the Boards of the Buckhead Forest Civic Association, the Florence McDonnell Spiritual Counseling Center, Mothers of Multiples, Seven Stages Theatre and Transitions House, Inc.;
  • Served as an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Law;
  • Written a weekly newspaper column for The Dublin Courier-Herald;
  • Provided pro bono representation to low-income residents on tenant, family law and other domestic issues, as well to start-up businesses and various community and civic associations.
