Jodi Green practices employee benefits law and provides counsel at both the corporate and individual level. For more than a decade, she worked for the U.S. Department of Labor in the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA). EBSA regulates and enforces employee benefit plans and the service providers who offer administrative, financial, or trust services to employee benefit plans. Jodiís experience as a senior investigator with EBSA affords her a unique perspective of how to administer a federally compliant retirement plan for businesses. She completed over 600 hours of specialized training in ERISA legal interpretation, fiduciary liability, accounting and financial forensics for employee benefit plans, conflict of interest analysis, and investment fees and service provider expenses.

For companies actively being audited by a government agency and/or are in litigation regarding their employee benefit plans, Jodi facilitates resolutions, and if needed, works towards settlements and corrective payments that preclude fines. She is experienced in providing litigation and trial support, and has worked extensively with the Office of the Solicitor at the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and other government agencies.

Prior to joining Tatum Hillman & Powell, LLP, Jodi earned her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law.  She worked for the U.S. Department of Labor - Employee Benefits Security Administration, primarily as a Senior Investigator (2007-2019).  Jodi was awarded the U.S. Department of Labor Secretary’s Exceptional Achievement Award in 2013, 2017, and 2018. Jodi has worked short-term assignments as an attorney for the Office of the Solicitor (2016) and as a retirement policy analyst for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (2014). She has also interned/clerked for Justices in the Supreme Court of Georgia, Georgia Court of Appeals, and Fulton County Superior Court (2005-2006).
